Introduction
Simon was one of the founding members of Logistic Information Consultants (LInC) in 2010 and is a
Partner and Principal Consultant. Simon has a professional background in aeronautical and mechanical
engineering, and is an experienced management consultant in all aspects of Integrated Logistic Support (ILS)
and the associated disciplines. He has led the development of various National and International Standards
associated with ILS, and has built a reputation over the last 20 years associated with process and
information modelling and management of through life support of high value assets. He has extensive
experience in the development of information requirement specifications, and modelling of the associated
business process, information and architecture solutions to meet the needs of individual requirements.
Experience
Simon is an experienced project manager and has played a lead technical role in the definition, development
and application of several National and International Standards in the Logistic Support domain:
- MIL-STD-1388,
- DEF STAN 00-60
- ASD Standards
- ISO 10303
- NATO CALS Product Data Model
- RN TRILS Model, ILS and LSA Management
- Through Life Support information and process requirements analysis and modelling, tailoring and
data exchange
- Development of the Through Life Support related JSP 886 Technical Guidance Chapters
He is an aircraft engineer by trade with 29 years experience of the engineering design, manufacture and support of
military equipment. He has specialized in Integrated Logistic Support (ILS) since 1990 and was involved in the
development of the UK MoD Standard for ILS (DEF STAN 00-60) since its inception as one of its principal authors.
Simon also played a key role in the development of an international ILS specification, representing UK MoD, as a
member of the NATO CALS Pilot Project team leading to the publication of the NATO Product Data Model. He led the
development of a through-life Integrated Logistic Support data model (TRILS) for the Royal Navy, and was involved
in the development of the International Standard for Product Life Cycle Support (ISO 10303-239). More recently,
Simon has played a leading role in the development of the UK Defence adaptation and use of ISO 10303-239 through
the definition and modelling of a UK Defence through life logistic support data model and the development of the
UK Defence LCIA Common Business Information Structure
